This Is The Most Hippie Town In Wisconsin And You Need To Visit

There are, it turns out, quite a few towns and cities in Wisconsin that could earn this moniker. From Mineral Point’s artist colony to Eau Claire’s music scene to Viroqua’s organic, cooperative farming, there are plenty of spots that display characteristics that would lend themselves to being called hippie. Certainly parts of Madison fall in line, as well, but any town where the state is the largest employer kind of automatically can’t have the title, I think.

Spring Green is most known as the home of Frank Lloyd Wright, but there’s so much more to this small town on the Wisconsin River. Located about 40 miles west of Madison, Spring Green is full of artists and small, locally owned shops. It’s clear the same inspiration that fueled Wright has led to a new generation of people who find peace and comfort in the area.
