The Unique Moses Creek Trail is a Wisconsin Boardwalk Trail That’s Beyond Beautiful
Stevens Point is a destination that beckons bikers, runners, and hikers. It’s home to the Green Circle Trail, a gorgeous pedestrian pathway that completely rings the community. A series of individual trails form the trail system and one of the most beautiful is the Moses Creek Trail. It’s a scenic boardwalk trail that’s worth seeking out, even if you don’t have time to do the whole trail system. Here’s why.
Moses Creek Trail is located in central Wisconsin on the north side of Stevens Point. You can access the trail via a parking area on Wilshire Drive.
The trail is named for the creek is crosses. In the 1860s, a Polish couple with the last name Mozuch lived in the area. The creek was named “Moses” or “Mosey,” an Anglicized version of Mozuch.
Just off the trailhead you’ll find a huge stretch of boardwalk. It’s the longest stretch of boardwalk on the trail and it travels more than a half mile. Other stretches of the trail are covered with crushed granite.
The Moses Creek Trail runs 2.4 miles, one way. While it’s possible to complete the trail in less than an hour on foot, you’ll probably want to allow a little more time to enjoy the scenery on this beautiful trail. If you love strolling a scenic natural boardwalk, here are some more amazing spots to cross.
