Havenwoods State Forest In Milwaukee Looks Like Narnia

We’ve all wanted to escape life for a bit and transport somewhere like we see in the movies. This natural oasis in Milwaukee makes that a reality! It may not be an actual magical forest, but it will definitely leave you feeling like you’re somewhere otherworldly. Right within our city limits is this incredible forest that’s simply a marvel to be seen.

Walking into Havenwoods State Forest will make you feel like you've just stepped into Narnia.

This forest is Wisconsin's only urban state forest.

The 237-acre park is full of forested areas, swampy woodlands, and stunning views.

This marvelous forest dates all the way back to the early 1900s when the only things that roamed the area were wildlife and Native Americans in search of food.

The Friends of Havenwoods is a non-profit organization that strives to maintain the forest and make sure it is a magical place for years to come.

Not only that, but Havenwoods offers an environmental awareness nature center, so you can learn about how to keep nature like this incredible forest alive.

The forest is home to a variety of wildlife, like these beautiful deer.

The terrain also makes it an excellent spot for birdwatching.

There are over six miles of easygoing trails to hike, walk, bike, and explore.

There are also four ponds, one of which has a boardwalk dock that leads you out onto the water.

Spring is a magical time in Havenwoods, as the greenery comes to life and wildflowers bloom.

In the summer, the park is an excellent place to spend a relaxing day in the sun.

In autumn, the foliage turns to gorgeous golds and reds in a vibrant display.

In the wintertime, the scenery becomes extra magical.

Who needs Narnia when we have our own otherworldly place in our backyard?
