7 Disturbing Cemeteries Around Milwaukee That Will Give You Goosebumps
Milwaukee is well-known for its ghost stories and sightings—we have no shortage of paranormal activity here! These cemeteries are no exception. Check out the seven most disturbing cemeteries we could find… but only at your own risk.
1. Forest Home Cemetery
This Milwaukee resting place holds some of the city's famed beer barons, politicians and social elite—including 28 mayors and 7 governors.
2. Plainfield Cemetery
Plainfield Cemetery was home to the infamous murderer Ed Gein... but Gein's grave was stolen and now an empty space sits between his family members. The gravesite is still a little eerie, as if someone is still there despite the gravestone disappearing.
3. Calvary Cemetery
This is the oldest existing Roman Catholic cemetery in Milwaukee. It serves as the final resting place for many of the city's early influential figures, and was designated a Milwaukee Landmark in 1981. Being the oldest and one of the most famous cemeteries in MKE, it can get spooky at night.
4. Riverside Cemetery
Just north of Milwaukee, you'll find Riverside Cemetery: home of urban legend, Kate Blood. A common story says Blood murdered her husband and children with an ax before committing suicide, and it’s been said that those who approach during a full moon might witness blood oozing from the face of the family stone on which her name is engraved. This is one cemetery you won't want to visit alone.
5. Mount Olivet Cemetery
This Milwaukee cemetery has been renovated quite a bit, featuring brand new mausoleums. Don't be mistaken though, it has plenty of history seeing as it's the resting place of many of those who perished when the Titanic sunk!
6. Tabernacle Cemetery
This cemetery is located right outside of Milwaukee in Waukesha. Due to it's popularity for hauntings, it's no longer open to the public. Visions of a man by the entrance, as well as flashes of light, seem to be examples of the spookiness happening here.
7. Holy Hill Cemetery
Welcome to Holy Hill Cemetery, where thick mist appears in photographs or randomly at night. Witnesses report a mist slowly forming into the shape of a man before their eyes. This cemetery is a known attraction for its beauty, but don't forget the ghostly sightings amidst it all.
