Here Are The 10 Biggest Risks Living In The City of Milwaukee
Moving anywhere new will always have its risks. Some places are worse than others, and some you want to avoid entirely! Here in Brew City, we have our ups and downs too. Whether it be the weather, construction, or celebrations that never seem to end, here are ten reasons you might want to think twice before settling down in Milwaukee.
1. The potholes will ruin your car.
It's true, our streets are constantly falling apart.
2. You’ll always be late to work because construction never ends…
Add an hour to whatever time estimate you gave yourself.
3. ...or your car is stuck in snow…
Make sure to keep a shovel in your car.
4. ...or you’ve had a late night.
Although, after being here awhile you'll learn to get up the next morning like nothing happened.
5. Beer will become your water.
After being immersed in Milwaukee culture, no meal will be complete without a brew. We are Brew City, after all.
6. You’ll forget that people eat food other than fish on Friday.
If you do end up moving to Milwaukee, you'll soon learn that our Fridays are reserved for fish. That's right, every Friday the whole community gathers for a fish fry and it's absolutely mandatory.
7. Cheese will overtake your diet.
Wisconsinites love cheese. However, Milwaukee is home to the best cheese in the state and you're sure to become addicted. Pretty soon no meal will be complete without this gooey goodness.
8. Simple food will never be as satisfying ever again.
Our city is home to the best of the best, which means we also appreciate the finer things in life. Milwaukee has no shortage of fine dining and it will change your tastebuds indefinitely.
9. Summer will exhaust you, as it’s a nonstop party.
With never-ending winters, we go hard in the summertime. There's a celebration for everything, and we're even home to the world's largest music festival which goes on for eleven days! It's so much fun, but absolutely exhausting.
10. You’ll feel incomplete everywhere else.
Milwaukee is home to the best food, people, honestly... everything! Once you move here everywhere else just won't feel like enough. That's a risk you must be willing to take to live in Brew City.
Those risks really aren’t that bad, and they’re risks we’re willing to take to live in The Good Land! Let us know what risks of Milwaukee you’re willing to overlook in the comments section.
