There’s No Chapel In The World Like This One In Wisconsin

There are some truly stunning historic churches in Wisconsin. But none has more history and charm than the Joan of Arc Chapel in Milwaukee. This church is from France, not Wisconsin, and it was built in the 1400s.

It was originally named the Chapelle de St. Martin de Sayssuel.

It was abandoned after the French Revolution and it fell into ruin.

But then it was rediscovered, shipped to New York, and eventually came to Milwaukee.

It reportedly has a stone that Joan of Arc kissed and blessed, and that stone remains colder than other stones surrounding it.

It has Christian artifacts that are significantly older than the church even is.

Some is not entirely old, however, like the stained glass windows. However, they are made to look like classic windows.

This is truly a huge part of history, just hiding in Milwaukee, and everyone should visit it.
