You’d Never Know One Of The Most Incredible Natural Wonders In Wisconsin Is Hiding In This Tiny Park
To find one of Wisconsin’s prettiest spots, you don’t need to drive all the way to Door County or the Northwoods – just head to Green Bay. On the city’s south side, there’s a delicate waterfall that’s just waiting to be discovered. It’s called Fonferek’s Glen, and it’s a natural wonder that you have to see in person – here’s what you need to know about this wonderful park and waterfall in Northeast Wisconsin.
Fonferek’s Glen is a Brown County park that’s located in the town of Ledgeview. It’s only about 15 minutes from Lambeau Field, but it feels a world away.
The park is just 75 acres, and it's located along Bower Creek. It’s part of the Niagara Escarpment, a massive geologic feature that also includes Niagara Falls.
You won’t mistake the waterfall here for Niagara Falls, but it’s beautiful, cascading about 30 feet. When the creek is running high, the waterfall roars!
If you’re planning on exploring all of the park’s trails, be sure to dress for a trail hike. Depending on the season and the conditions, the trails can become wet, muddy, and slippery. But if you love natural beauty, it’s worth it!
