Hike The Coast Of The Majestic Lake Superior At Bayview Beach In Wisconsin
There are some Wisconsin experiences that are as beautiful as they are expansive. One such place is called Bayview Beach and it’s the perfect place for a Wisconsin costal hike – you’ll leave with a little sand in your shoes and memories of an amazing outdoor experience along the shore of Lake Superior. The lakeshore is waiting: here’s what you need to know about the hike on Bayview Beach.
This great hiking beach is located in the Town of Bayview, roughly midway between the communities of Washburn and Bayfield, just off of Highway 13.
You can access the beach off of Bayview Park Road. Use caution on the dunes near the beach as they have poison ivy. Stay on the beach and in well traveled areas and you should be fine. Also consider using bug repellant, especially in the early summer when the biting flies are out.
The water is often a little brisk, but if you’re brave enough, it’s a good beach for swimming. The water is relatively shallow for a long distance from shore.
But if you keep your feet on dry land, it’s still a worthy destination for a hike – just enough the sound of the waves, the soft sand, and the Lake Superior breeze. If you hike lake in the day you can enjoy an incredible Lake Superior sunset!
Learn more about the wild and wonderful beaches in the area on the Bayfield County website. Once you’ve hiked this amazing stretch of lakeshore, here are some more fun things to do in Bayfield, including details on shops and sea caves. Enjoy your vacation!
