The 11 Most Charming Apple Orchards To Visit In Wisconsin This Fall
One of the best parts of fall in Wisconsin is taking advantage of the wonderful farmland we have here. Families have been growing apples in Wisconsin for generations and you get to go out and visit them. Whether you pick your own or just stock up on the dozens of varieties from their shops, there’s just something cozy and magical about visiting an orchard and filling yourself with cider, caramel apples and more. We’ve actually got a plethora of orchards across the state and this is just a small sample. Open from about 1 pm to 4 pm every day from late August until October 1st, this place boasts trees low enough for toddlers to pick from. Located at 3871 WI-21, Oshkosh, WI 54904.
Home to Aeppeltrow Winery, these folks grow more than 150 varieties of apples. This is not a pick your own site, but they do invite you to wander through their orchard. There's also a two-story treehouse to play in, a woods trail to stroll and for the adults, the Aeppeltrow Winery and Distillery tasting room. Open 9 am to 5 pm daily. Calling themselves the apple garden with the Norwegian exposure, this place is u-pick with more than 25 types of apples as well as raspberries, gourds, squash and more. In September and October they are open Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. Located at 2227 Fitchburg Rd, Fitchburg, WI 53575.
Family-owned since 1954, this place features cider, pick-you-own or ready-picked apples, amazing baked goods and more. Open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday 12 pm to 5 pm. Located at 86600 Betzold Rd, Bayfield, WI 54814.
From picking apples to tasting their world-famous-pie-in-a-bag and more, there's so much to keep you busy here - including a train ride. It's a perfect place to visit in the fall. Open every day from 8 am to 6 pm. Located at 1545 Main St, Mukwonago, WI 53149.
With more than 5,000 trees producing more than 15 varieties of apples, this place is a must-stop for apple lovers. They do offer pick-your-own, but ask that you call ahead to reserve a spot. Open 9 am to 7 pm Monday through Saturday and 9 am to 5 pm on Sunday. Located at 50350 Turkey Ridge Rd, Gays Mills, WI 54631.
7. Rex Moseley's Fruit and Vegetable Farm - Warrens
With apples, pumpkins, squash and more, this place is where you can get all set up for fall flavors. Pick-your-own or choose from pre-picked stock. Open 9 am to 5 pm every day. Located at 23933 Cortland Ave, Warrens, WI 54666.
Fred Sacia started this orchard with a handful of trees back in the 1890's. More than 100 years later, his granddaughter and her husband run the very same orchard, now flush with more than 60,000 trees. Aside from the apples, stay for a cup of coffee and some amazing baked goods.
Open 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday. Located at W19461 US HWY 53/54/93, Galesville, WI 54630.
Established in 1858 on former lumber land, this farm is run by the great-grandchildren who continue a wonderful Wisconsin tradition. Open 9 am to 6 pm every day of the week through October. Located at 19372 County Highway Oo, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.
There are 18 different varieties of apples as well as an awesome store with all kinds of delicious treats. They are cash or check only. Open Monday - Saturday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm with pick-your-own hours from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm
