There are a lot of ways to explore the wilds of Wisconsin, but it’s hard to beat the fun of a UTV. While it’s not the cheapest thrill, you don’t have to invest in one of these machines to enjoy a day on the trails. Just head to the Black River State Forest, where an outfitter is ready to get you on the trail and ready for a Wisconsin off-road adventure.
The Black River State Forest is an incredible wild area – it’s vast, covering more than 68,000 acres, but it’s also very accessible. There are ATV trails that can be reached right off of Interstate 94.
There are hotels with trailer parking if you have your own ride, but if you don’t, you can still get on the trail. Just head to Bear Bogging Adventure Tours. It has locations in Black River Falls and Warrens.

There’s a lot to explore in this forest, which is laced with rivers and filled with pine and oak woods. You’ll likely encounter some wildlife and may even see elk, which have been reintroduced in the forest.
Be sure to dress appropriately for this adventure. You'll want to wear clothes that can get dirty and bring a waterproof case for your phone. If you’re lucky, there will be plenty of mud on the trip!
