This Charming Wisconsin City Was Named One Of The Best Places To Live In The Entire Country
We love Wisconsin, but have you ever wondered which of Wisconsin’s cities was the absolute best to live in?

In fact, Appleton was the only Wisconsin city to make the list of "Best Places To Live 2016," coming in at number 24 in the list of 50 cities around the country.

Appleton residents are already aware of how amazing this city of around 74,000 really is, but it has remained mostly under the radar for the rest of the country thus far. Appleton is located about 30 miles southwest of Green Bay, on the Fox River. This location gives it its nickname as one of the Fox Cities. (Pictured: Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.)

First of all, it has one of the lowest crime rates in the state. The crime rate and the city's affordable housing are two of the most important things people consider when deciding where to live.

You will never be bored in Houdini's hometown. This city has museums, festivals, and sports arenas to keep you busy. Pictured is The History Museum at the Castle, an engaging hands-on museum with several exhibits, including one that reveals the secrets of Harry Houdini's magic. The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is another huge draw for the city, a beautiful facility that hosts comedians, musicians and Broadway shows.

No city is perfect, and Money magazine cited low employment growth and a lack of diversity as downsides. They also admitted that winters in Appleton are not for everyone. Residents of the city probably won't mind hearing this, though, so their charming city might remain a secret a little longer.
