The Sky Will Be Filled With Colorful And Creative Hot Air Balloons At the Taste and Glow Balloon Fest In Wisconsin
This summer, the sky above Wausau will become very colorful. The Taste and Glow Balloon Fest is a huge hot air balloon rally in Wisconsin that’s an unforgettable way to spend a summer weekend. The fest includes great bands and great food, an incredible assortment of hot air balloons, and so much more. Here’s why you need to add the Taste and Glow Balloon Fest to your summer agenda.
The festival is a great location in central Wisconsin – it’s within a few hours of pretty much anywhere in the Badger State, and it's a doable trip from places like Minneapolis and Chicago.
The rally rakes place in the countryside just west of the city of Wausau. The location is just west of the Stettin Town Hall, a short drive from Marathon City. When you see a bunch of giant balloons, you’ll know you’re in the right place!
The event kicks off on a Friday and if you can peel your eyes away from the balloons you’ll see that this is far more than a balloon show. There’s a lumberjack show that includes amateur log rolling, as well as a bounce house for kids and more.
The festival areas keeps the weekend lively and attendees well fed. There’s even a special beer brewed up just for the event. Bull Falls Brewery has created a Kolsch beer that will be sold on the field. Portions of every beer sold benefit the Camp American Legion. Enjoy a cold beer and support our veterans!
But the real draw to this event, of course, is the wonderful collection of balloons. They come in all imaginable colors and types and will be offering tethered rides during the event. Make plans to stay into the evening to see the Balloon Glow Show!
