Looks can be deceiving, and Anchor Bar serves as proof. From the outside, it looks like an ordinary restaurant, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Step inside, and you’ll find an interior stuffed to the brim with eclectic memorabilia and artifacts, but that’s not all. You’ll also find a menu filled with a variety of mouthwatering burgers at extremely low prices. Take a look:
For one of the state’s most unique dining adventures, you’ll have to head to Superior, which is where you’ll find Anchor Bar.
Its one-of-a-kind digs and great grub have won the Anchor Bar numerous awards over the years. The eatery was even featured on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.
So, just what makes this self-proclaimed dive bar different from all the others out there? Well, for one, there’s the collection of interesting items it’s decorated with.
The nautical motif, which covers almost every inch of the interior, includes everything from anchors and lighthouses to a life ring from the famed Edmund Fitzgerald.
At a half-pound in size, these burgers are far superior to burgers at many restaurants, let alone dive bars. And don’t forget about the hand-cut fries that accompany the burgers.
The huge burgers are only enhanced by tasty topping varieties. Peruse the menu, and you’ll find everything from standards, like a bacon cheeseburger, to specialties, such as the Cashew Burger, which comes topped with crunchy cashews and Swiss.
Nearly as drool-worthy as the burgers are the prices. Ranging in price from $4 - $5, the half-pound burgers are downright cheap! For bigger appetites, there’s a 1-pound burger, which will only cost you $7.25!
Remember, this is a popular spot, so a crowd - and a wait - is likely. However, it's more than worth it since Anchor Bar’s burgers have been referred to as the best in Superior, the Twin Ports, Wisconsin, and the world.
