The Hike To This Secluded Waterfall Beach In West Virginia Is Positively Amazing
It’s warming up out there, and you know what that means: swimming hole season! Here’s one that’s a bit difficult to get to but well worth the effort once you do.

It's a beautiful spot: peaceful and majestic.

It's located 1 mile downstream from the Rockville Bridge, where Mt Nebo Road crosses Big Sandy Creek. On a hot summer day, the best way to reach it is by wading down along the creek bed.

There is limited road access to the falls, but it's an extremely rough road that requires four-wheel drive or even an ATV to complete, plus you'll still have to scramble down to the falls on foot.

Take in the mountain views while you soak in the calm water above the falls or enjoy the white water below.

Bring a book or just enjoy a little quiet meditation time in nature.

It's a popular spot for kayakers eager to experience the rush of the falls.
If you do find your way to Wonder Falls this summer, please clean up after yourself when you leave! Part of the wonder of the falls is how clean and pristine they are, due partly to their remoteness and difficulty to access. We want to keep them that way!
If you’re like me and can’t wait to take advantage of the many summer swimming spots in the area, you’ll also appreciate this list of a few more waterfall swimming holes scattered around the state!
