Most visitors to Morgantown don’t realize the state’s only botanical garden is located on the outskirts of town a mere 15 miles from the hustle and bustle. Whether you’re spending the night, a weekend, or just traveling to Morgantown for the day, a visit to the West Virginia Botanic Garden at Tibbs Run Preserve is one you won’t soon forget.
The hidden garden is nestled among 85 acres and includes nine different gardens with a variety of themes.
Seasonal blooms color the landscape, while the varietal gardens like the Rhododendron Garden, the Butterfly Garden, the Hammock Haven, and more create magical themes and places in which to escape the worries of everyday life.
The West Virginia Botanic Garden is located at 1061 Tyrone Rd., Morgantown, WV 26508. Admission is free (donations are welcome). The garden is open from dawn to dusk 365 days a year. Learn more, including where to park, from the official website!
