It’s Blueberry Time At These 2 You-Pick Berry Farms In West Virginia
One of the best parts about summer in West Virginia is the delicious fruits and vegetables you can pick fresh right from your very own garden. Or, you can head to a pick-your-own farm and do the same thing! And here are two options that have blueberries ready for harvesting right now. YUM!
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. Just a few other notes relevant to blueberries in West Virginia, since it is such an unusual year: Blueberry Hill in Flat Top and Blueberry Ridge Farm in Fairmont are both already closed for the 2020 season, but they both expect to reopen to the public for U-pick next summer, so keep them on your list for the future! Also, if you’d like to try planting your own backyard blueberries, you can purchase a variety of blueberry bushes from Shady Oaks Blueberry Farm in Poca. Blueberries also grow wild in the woods of West Virginia, so watch for them as you hike.
What are some of your favorite blueberry recipes? We would love to hear how you enjoy this delicious fruit!
