Tawney Farm is a 120-acre sheep farm located among the middle portion of the Gauley River. They offer camping right along the river. It's a great spot for kayakers and nature lovers alike.
There's a great tepee tent available for rent, or you can bring your own tent. These camp sites are nice and private so you can completely relax and not have to worry about noisy neighbors.
If you're in the mood for hiking, there's plenty of nearby trails to enjoy! Wild and wonderful West Virginia has the best nature around (we're only a little biased), so get out and explore.
Camping on a chilly or rainy night? There's a cabin available for rent called the Nut House. It's a two-room shack without plumbing that can sleep four. You'll still get to enjoy nature, but you can be out of the elements.
Located right by Panther Mountain, this is a fascinating area with so much history. A Civil War skirmish was even fought nearby! Summervilles Lake and Carnifax Ferry State Park are both close by.
