Few People Know The Little Bahamas Of The East Is Right Here In West Virginia
The Bahamas, located about 50 miles east of south Florida, is known for its crystal clear waters, an attribute not generally associated with West Virginia. But there is one exception: Summersville Lake in Nicholas County.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. The lake has a maximum depth of 327 feet, with many rock formations going as deep as 100 feet. Underwater visibility is at least 20 feet in all direction or more, depending on weather conditions. You can bring your own equipment or rent some from the SCUBA shop.
