Greenbrier County is known for its history, its scenery, and its rivers. And one of the jewels of this popular destination is the quaint mountain town of Lewisburg.

Take a stroll through the historic downtown to rediscover the answer for yourself!
Start at the Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center, where you can pick up a complimentary historic walking tour brochure that will help you appreciate what you are seeing as you meander around the town.

If needed, there's a big parking lot off nearby Arbuckle Lane.
If it's not already on your list of places to see, the friendly folks at the visitors center will most likely encourage you to walk down past one of only three Carnegie Halls in the nation.

If you time it right, you can even catch a concert here!

There are also several old cemeteries you can stroll through: two near Carnegie Hall and one a short drive down the road.

One is attached to the yard of the historic Old Stone Presbyterian Church. The other, behind Carnegie Hall, is the site of slave hero Dick Pointer's grave.

On another side of town, you can also visit a Confederate cemetery.

There are old, hand-hewn log buildings, there's a spring originally owned by Andrew Lewis and around which the town was built, there's the North House Museum.
