The trails at Cathedral State Park wind through towering hemlocks giving visitors a scenic and serene experience.
Designated a National Natural Landmark, Cathedral State Park is home to West Virginia's largest old-growth forest. Spend the day under the canopy of these ancient trees on the park's three miles of trails.
Located near Aurora, the 133-acre park contains the only stand of virgin hemlock. Relatively undisturbed over time, many of the trees are estimated to be between 350 - 500 years old.
