You’re Going To Love These Predictions About West Virginia’s Mild Upcoming Winter

With temperatures in the 80s and 90s this week in West Virginia, the thought of a snowy day sounds refreshing. But as we know, as those snowy days add up and the inches pile up on the roads, winter can get tiresome fast. Farmer’s Almanac, America’s classic source for future weather predictions, has just released their forecast for the upcoming winter. Fortunately, it looks like we’ll have a nice mix of mild and snowy days!

While we can expect some ice and snow in West Virginia this winter, overall temperatures will be a bit more mild than usual.

This coming winter is expected to have more precipitation than usual, but with the warmer temperatures, some of that will be rain instead of snow.

In most of the state, it will be coldest in early to mid-December, late December, early January, and early and mid-February.

Despite the mild winter, you won't get to enjoy spring right away... there will be another snowy period in mid-March!

The forecast is similar for the Eastern Panhandle, but with a slight difference in cold and snowy weeks.

Expect the coldest weeks to happen in late December, early and mid-January, and early and mid-February. The snowiest periods will be in mid- to late November, early and mid- to late January, and mid-March.
