Summer is for exploring, and there’s no better way to explore West Virginia’s natural beauty than by taking a hike. Here’s a trail that offers some incredible scenery and a stunning view at the end.
Long Point Trail is 1.6 miles one-way, and it guides you through some gorgeous scenery. The trail is located near Fayetteville.
Reach the trailhead from Fayetteville. Take Gateway Road for nearly two miles, then turn onto Newton Road. The parking lot for the trailhead is immediately on your left.
You'll walk through fields of wildflowers along the way.
As you climb the last little ridge and emerge from the trees, this is the view you'll see: the New River Gorge Bridge. The panoramic view up here is just stunning.
