Travel Off The Beaten Path To Try The Most Mouthwatering Hot Dog In West Virginia
Some foodie experiences are worth the drive regardless of the distance. The hot dogs found at Hillbilly Hot Dogs, a hole in the wall and much loved roadside attraction along the Ohio River, are as picturesque as the views of the river – and about as unique as you’ll ever find.
The general menu includes more than 30 renditions of the perfect hot dog, from a Taco Dog all the way to the Mothman Dog...
For starters, its 15 inches log and one full pound of weenie. And while plain hot dogs are just fine as they are, the toppings make this dog what it is.
It has everything BUT the kitchen sink: the massive weenie is topped off with jalapenos, sauteed peppers and onions, nacho cheese, habenero, chili sauce, mustard, slaw, lettuce, tomato, and shredded cheese.
Now, before you go, there are a few things you need to know. This eatery is not your ordinary restaurant. It's, by far, the most unique place to eat in The Mountain State.
In addition to gigantic burgers, Hillbilly Hot Dogs makes a five-pound burger (called the Singlewide) that'll boggle your mind. You can try to take it on all by yourself (but there's no tee shirt as a reward), or share it with the fam. It feeds 12 people.
