Glide Across The Largest Ice Skating Rink In West Virginia For An Unforgettable Outdoor Adventure
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in The Mountain State! And what better way to glide into the holiday season than at the Greenbrier. Now, before you shake your head, hear us out. Their massive outdoor ice skating rink is open to the public and if you’re thinking what we’re thinking, you’ll want to give it a whirl. Take a look…
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
If you're like us, your first thoughts of the Greenbrier Resort are that it's absolutely stunning — and you may wish you could fit it into the budget on the regular.
Well, now you can. Because their ice skating rink is open to the public! You don't have to be an overnight guest to enjoy twirling around this colossal rink that's nearly 10,000 square feet large. And it's entirely affordable if you have your own skates, or are willing to splurge just a tiny bit...
Night time skating means you'll get to experience that gigantic Christmas tree The Greenbrier decorates with tens of thousands of lights each year (although the tree may not be visible from the rink).
Lights, music, and a rink-side fire pit round out the added fun of this massive rink. Imagine skating under the stars with The Greenbrier as your backdrop! It may not be something you'd want to do every day but it's Christmas, so why not?
The opening date of the rink is weather dependent. The Greenbrier Resort is estimating the rink will open on Thanksgiving Day, 2018. For more up to date information, we suggest following their Facebook page (be sure to select “see first” after you follow).
See this link on the website for rink skating fees with and without skate rentals.
The Greenbrier Resort is located at 300 W Main St., White Sulphur Springs, WV 24986.
