This Beautiful Hike In West Virginia Has A Mouthwatering Restaurant Right Along The Trail
There isn’t much better than a hike along a West Virginia river, unless maybe it’s a meal in one of West Virginia’s delicious restaurants. On the Greenbrier River Trail, you can do both!
The Greenbrier River Trail is built on an old railroad bed and is a hiking, biking and horseback riding trail that runs from Caldwell to Cass along the Greenbrier River.
The rail-trail is the longest of its kind in West Virginia, crossing 35 bridges, passing through two tunnels, and partially entering the National Radio Quiet Zone (no cell service!).
The Greenbrier River Trail is one of 50 Millennium Legacy Trails in the United States and was rated one of the top 10 hiking trails in the country by Backpacker Magazine.
Not only is this trail a great option for a beautiful day hike, but just a block off the trail as it passes through Marlinton, West Virginia is a delicious restaurant beloved by trail users.
Lace up your boots, hop on your bike, or saddle up your horse and check out one or two of these 78 breathtaking miles…and pop in and say hi to the folks at Dirtbean while you’re out. You won’t regret it!
