Seneca Rocks is a well maintained 3.5 mile trail in the Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area. This moderate hike offers an incredible view of one of the most scenic attractions in all of West Virginia. The trail leads you to an observation platform where you'll have one of the most breathtaking views of the rock faces!
The Endless Wall trail is easily one of the most popular hikes in West Virginia for its absolutely heart-stopping views and incredible scenery. Located near Lansing, this 2.7 mile loop trail follows the cliff line along the New River Gorge. There are various overlooks along the trail so you can stop, take a breath, and enjoy the surroundings. This family friendly trail is simply a must-do in West Virginia!
Located in the George Washington Forest, this moderate 4.4 mile hike offers expansive views of beautiful, lush green foliage. You'll begin the hike at the trailhead located at Wolf Gap Campground. The first part of the hike is notably the most difficult, but the trail evens out after the first mile or so. Once you get past the first mile you'll arrive at the ridge line of Mill Mountain where you can soak up the incredible scenery!
Located near Morgantown, the Coopers Rock State Forest Loop is a 5-mile trail that is a true favorite among locals. This is a popular hiking spot for many, and it's easy to see why. The outstanding Blackwater Falls is a must-see waterfall in West Virginia. The Blackwater Falls trail is an easy hike that's less than one mile, making it perfect for hikers of all skill levels. The waterfall is clearly the main attraction. Seeing the five-stories tall falls plunging from the river is a downright awe-inspiring view.
This 7-mile trail near Ansted is one of the most relaxing hikes in the Mountain State. This trail has it all. You'll be led to waterfalls, caves, historic mining artifacts, and an overlook with a view you'll never forget. Taking in the view, it looks like the green just goes on and on forever!
