It’s Official: West Virginia’s Very Own Fayetteville Is One Of The Country’s Best Small Towns To Visit This Year

We’ve all known for awhile now that West Virginia has some of the country’s best small towns. After all, small towns are a Mountain State specialty! But now the rest of the nation is apparently catching wind of our little slice of Almost Heaven, and they’re starting to pay it some of the positive national attention it deserves. At least, that’s the case with the town of Fayetteville, West Virginia, which recently earned spot number two on Smithsonian Magazine’s list of the 15 best small towns to visit in America this year.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

To learn more about what to see and do when you come for a visit, head over to the Fayetteville Convention & Visitors Bureau website. What’s the most adventurous thing you can do in Fayetteville? It’s probably the New River Gorge Bridgewalk. Or maybe flying a WWII biplane.
