The waterfall's name comes from a Native American legend.

Legend has it that an Indian princess named Elakala threw herself off the edge of one of the waterfalls after being scorned by her love.

Easy access and the natural beauty makes this beautiful series of falls popular with photographers.

There are three waterfalls in the series; one is 45 feet tall, one is 30 feet, and the third is 20 feet.

The much larger Blackwater Falls is also in the state park, but many people find the Elakala falls a better spot for photographs.

The falls are a perfect spot to let your worries go.

The fall's natural beauty keeps visitors coming to relax and take photographs all year round.
