We still have several weeks of summer heat left. Summertime can be oppressively hot and humid in West Virginia, but there’s one tiny town that’s the perfect place to escape the high temperatures. Davis, WV, has the highest elevation in the state, and cooler than average temperatures. It’s a great place to take a day trip for some adventure and exploration.

Fairfax Stone Historical Monument State Park commemorates a boundary stone that was set in 1746 to separate West Virginia (then Virginia) from Maryland. The little park is just 4 square acres.
