There’s A Covered Bridge Trail In West Virginia And It’s Everything You’ve Ever Dreamed Of
There are many beautiful historic bridges in West Virginia, and it would take days to visit them all. But you can see five bridges in just a two hour drive when you take this trip. There’s an interactive map here if you need to adjust the route.

This bridge dates back to 1904 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

This is one of the oldest covered bridges in West Virginia, built in 1884. It provided access to the S.S. Hern Mill while the mill was in operation.

This bridge was built between 1897 and 1899, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

This bridge was abandoned for decades before the Monroe County Historical Society saved it. It was completely restored in the year 2000.

This bridge, built in 1910, is the shortest covered bridge in West Virginia. It's just 34 feet and 6 inches long.
This looks like an excellent way to spend a fall afternoon. These bridges will be especially beautiful as the leaves are changing colors.
