You’ll Have A Front Row View Of West Virginia’s Bluestone Lake At These Cozy Cabins
There are so many great options for fun overnight getaways around West Virginia! But the one we’re featuring today has one of the best views of them all. Sneak away to Bluestone State Park to see for yourself!
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

This gem of a park is perfect for an active family vacation or a quiet getaway. Bluestone Lake, the third-largest body of water in West Virginia, is formed by the Bluestone Dam just downstream of the confluence of the New and Bluestone Rivers.

There is a boat ramp if you bring your own vessel or you can rent boats, kayaks, and canoes at the Bluestone marina. Other attractions at Bluestone Lake include games, picnicking, a playground and wading area for younger kids, and weekly nature and family activities put on by staff during the summer.

Relax, light a fire in the beautiful stone fireplace (firewood provided!), and enjoy the dusk fall.

But If you prefer to bring your own lodging, camping facilities are also available.

In addition to these amenities, when you stay in Bluestone State Park, you have access to Pipestem Resort's indoor pool and sauna just down the road.

It's a beautiful sight year round that you don't want to miss.
