What are some of the best easy hikes in West Virigina?

West Virginia is full of wonderful hiking trails – so many so that you could hike the rest of your life if you wanted (and if you could – what? We totally would). With almost 1,000 hikes to pick from, it can be a little tough to decide where to begin; well, why don’t we offer up a few (wonderful) suggestions? Some of our favorite, easy-peasy hikes in West Virginia include the amazing Lindy Point Trail, at Blackwater Falls State Park. It’s quick and easy, at just 0.8 miles long, and it offers up amazing views of Blackwater Canyon, among lots of other things. The Roadside Trail, inside Coopers Rock State Forest, is a three-mile trek to Coopers Rock Overlook; in total, there are more than 50 miles of trails within the forest to embark upon. Be sure to also add the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail to your bucket list; it’s a 22-mile abandoned railroad trail that features an amazing 940-foot-long Rosendale Trestle bridge. Finally, the Grandview State Park Overlook Trail is paved from parking to the vista, and the vista is definitely a grand view of the amazing wilderness. Which easy hiking trails in West Virginia will you start with?

What are the most scenic hikes in West Virginia?

Oh, goodness, how are we supposed to choose? Every hike in West Virginia is one of the best hikes in West Virginia, but if we have to choose, we would say some of the most scenic hikes in West Virginia are the Long Point Trail, near Fayetteville, which is 1.6 miles long, and rated as moderately difficult. It features a gorgeous panoramic view of the New River Gorge Bridge, and is worth every foot of the way. The Harpers Ferry National Historic Park is another great one, in general. It features more than 20 miles of scenic trails weaving all over it, as well as awe-inspiring riverside and mountain views. Finally, the Endless Wall Trail in Lansing is 2.7 miles long, and also features some amazing views of Diamond Point. Those are some of our favorites to start with – the possibilities are endless.
