This Wine and Lunch Train In Washington Is Perfect For Your Next Outing

Imagine boarding a 1940s train and cruising through the beautiful Nisqually Valley in the foothills of Mt. Rainier. Then imagine being greeted with all the wine you can sip and a catered meal at your destination. The Washington Wine Express departs from the Elbe Depot.

The 3-hour journey begins with a departure at noon or 4:30 (depending on which excursion you choose), when you'll ride through some of Washington's finest scenery.

Soon, you'll reach the Mt. Rainier Railroad and Logging Museum in Mineral.

Your ticket comes with six tasting tickets and a souvenir glass.

Since wine tasting works up an appetite, you'll also be treated to a catered lunch (or dinner, depending on your excursion) before boarding the train again.

This unique experience costs $71, or $86 if you'd like to sit in first-class.
