Hot Air Balloons Will Be Soaring At Washington’s Walla Walla Balloon Stampede
Since 1975, autumn’s arrival has been marked in the Walla Walla Valley by an annual hot air balloon festival that has stolen our hearts. The Walla Walla Balloon Stampede is a beloved tradition that brings locals and tourists together for one incredible long weekend.
For obvious reasons, the 2020 festival was canceled. And while we were happy to do our part to help everyone stay healthy, we’re thrilled to see that the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede will be returning to the skies this year. Mark your calendars for October 13 – 17, because it’s sure to be better than ever.

When the festival started, it only featured four hot air balloons. In recent years, we've seen over two dozen take the sky.

Wednesday is always Kids' Day, where children are the guests of honor.

As it turns out, this is no easy task.

Typically, flights are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning at 7:15 a.m. In recent years, there has also been a night launch on Friday evening.

Arrive bright and early so you can stake out the best spots. You may even arrive in time to chat with one of the professionals.

Walla Walla is always pretty magical, but during the annual Balloon Stampede, it's downright enchanting here.
