We’re getting geared up for another beautiful hiking season here in Washington. From our waterfall trails to our most popular hikes, we’ve got adventures for all skill levels and interests here. And this trail in particular takes you through an old train tunnel.

The Snoqualmie Tunnel is part of the 110-mile John Wayne Trail.

This 8-mile stretch of trail is located near Snoqualmie Pass.
This trail is rated Easy, meaning it's good for all skill levels.

Of course, the tunnel is the main attraction.

The Snoqualmie Tunnel was constructed back in 1914, and until 1980 it was part of the Milwaukee Road's line from Seattle to Chicago.
The tunnel isn't very long, but it is chilly, so take a jacket.

It's pretty cool to be able to go into this tunnel and check out a piece of local history.

The trail is open all year, but it's at its best from May - October.

We’ve certainly got some beautiful trails here in Washington. It’s hard to say what the most beautiful hike would be, but this one is definitely a top contender.
