This Secluded Resort On A Sleepy Washington Island Is Perfect For Getting Away From It All
We’ve been enjoying the year of the staycation here in Washington, and many of us have been able to explore places in our own backyards that we’ve never experienced before. And since small gatherings and quiet getaways have replaced crowded resorts and large group travel for awhile, we’d like to shine some light on. hidden gem here in the Evergreen State we happen to love. The Guemes Island Resort is a little piece of paradise for nature lovers.

It's a small island in western Skagit County you can reach via a quick ferry ride from Anacortes.

This small, casual, family-run business got its start in 1947, and it has been the site of many happy memories ever since.

This is one of the luxury cabins (and a popular choice for many).

Some are tiny homes built for two, while others will host entire families.

And when current conditions allow and it's safe to do so, this is a great site for small weddings and milestone birthday celebrations.

But since it's a fairly rustic resort, you won't pay nearly as much as you would for most waterfront properties in the Pacific Northwest.

The resort also partners with Rising Tide Charters to arrange for private boat charters if you'd like to go fishing, crabbing, or sightseeing.

Keep it in mind the next time you need a weekend away.
