This Floating Restaurant In Washington Is Such A Unique Place To Dine
Washougal is a tiny town in Clark County that sits right on the Columbia River. And while there’s not much to do here other than enjoy its stunning natural beauty, it does have The Puffin Cafe, an adorable floating restaurant you can access by boat. Stop by and enjoy some Caribbean cuisine on the Columbia at this unique restaurant in Washington.
The Puffin Cafe has been open since 2002, serving tropical cheer to its patrons.
This is the only restaurant of its kind in the area, both in cuisine and flotation capabilities.
The interior is simple, but charming.
The tables are topped with pennies under a gloss finish, and the chairs are nice and comfortable.
While the Columbia River Gorge isn't exactly The Caribbean, this place does its best to emulate the laid back tropical spirit.
There's nothing like enjoying a meal in the outdoor seating area on a warm day.
The view and atmosphere alone make this place worthwhile, but the food also happens to be excellent.
The burger menu is both delicious and creative.
The menu offers a true taste of the tropics, serving temping entrees like the Treasure island Salad (pictured here) and Tropical Shrimp Tacos.
The Jerk Chicken Sandwich and Jerk Chicken Tacos are exceptional.
The Puffin Cafe also has a great happy hour Monday - Friday from 3 - 6 p.m.
Between the discounted drinks and cheap eats, you might want to spend the entire three hours here.
The Puffin Cafe is open daily from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Whether you arrive by boat or by car, don't leave without ordering a slice of Key lime pie.
Address: 14 South A Street, Washougal, WA, 98671
