The 140-Mile Scenic Drive In Washington You Will Want To Take As Soon As You Can
The North Cascades Scenic Highway is one of the most iconic stretches of our beautiful state. Spanning about 140 miles, it covers all sorts of terrain, from rural farmland to historic Western towns to some of the most breathtaking overlooks on the planet. And while you might not have time to cover the entire 140 miles (although you certainly should at some point), you should consider planning a road trip that way soon — the highway tends to close at the first signs of winter.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. The stretch is often referred to as the North Cascades Scenic Byway, and for good reason -- it's stunning.

The Evergeen State certainly has its share of scenic drives, but this one just might beat them all.

It's worth it to spend as much time here as possible.

From fruits and veggies to delicious handmade milkshakes, this is the place to stop and treat yourself.

The short wheelchair accessible trail takes you straight to an overlook with views of Liberty Bell Mountain, and honestly, this stop alone is worth the trip.

This tiny Western town is full of great restaurants, shops, and friendly people.

This area truly showcases the diverse scenery that makes our state so wonderful.
Have you been to the North Cascades lately? There’s still plenty of time to go this year, but the beautiful weather will only last so long.
