Here’s How To Explore Washington Virtually For National Travel & Tourism Week
We realize this sounds like a cruel joke, given these strange times, but May 3 – 9, 2020 is National Travel and Tourism Week here in the USA. And while it won’t be too long before we’re exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest and beyond once again, for now, we’ll have to settle for staycations at home.
Luckily, there are ways to see more of Washington virtually to help pass the time. Right now, three of the Evergreen State’s up-and-coming tourist spots are offering some fantastic free content to share in hopes of lifting your spirits. And in the future, when restrictions are lifted, they’d all love to have you visit in person.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

But this part of Washington is finally being recognized for the delicious food-producing, vineyard-filled, and family-friendly destination that is truly is.

Just visit the Tri Cities' Facebook page every day this week at 1 PM to learn more about the region and even get virtual toasts from the region’s top craft beverage producers like Sage Brewing Company. And don't worry if you're late or you miss a day -- the videos will stay up.

This sprawling region features family-owned vineyards and wineries that produce grapes for the majority of the Washington wine industry.

Head to the Red Mountain AVA Facebook page every Thursday at 4 p.m. to join the region’s winemakers, growers and characters for tours, tips, tricks, and tastings. They release a buying guide one week prior here.

These islands are well-known for their rugged natural beauty, vibrant arts scene, and fantastic restaurants (especially seafood).

And right now, the sights, sounds, and even flavors of Whidbey and Camano Islands are temporarily available through digital tours and recipes found here. New topics are added twice a week, so keep checking back.
Enjoy your virtual vacations!
