Washington’s Most Famous Hotel Is The The Mayflower Park Hotel And You’ll Want To Visit
What comes to mind when you think of Washington’s most famous accommodations? Recently, Mayflower Park Hotel was voted Washington’s Most Famous Hotel by
Elle Decor. And while we aren’t entirely sure that’s accurate, it’s definitely a lovely place to stay. If you’ve never heard of this magnificent property, allow us to introduce you.
The Mayflower Park Hotel is located in downtown Seattle, where it has been for 92 years.
It was built in 1927 as the Bergonian. And almost a century later, it's still locally-owned (by Birney and Marie Dempcy) and still an important part of the community.
The current owners purchased the hotel in 1973, beautifully renovating it and restoring it.
Having been a part of the local community for so long, the building has been home to many happy occasions and vacations.
The accommodations here range from classic guest rooms to lavish suites, each with all the comforts of home.
And although Seattle hotels are known for being expensive, The Mayflower is actually a steal. Rooms rent for as little as $124 during the off-season and weekend rates for classic rooms are still under $200.
In addition to having a cosy, plush place to sleep, you'll be close to some of the city's top attractions.
Pike Place Market, the waterfront, downtown shopping, and the Seattle Center are all nearby, not to mention some of the tastiest restaurants.
Of course, no one would blame you if you decided to stay on the property.
Oliver's Lounge has been open for more than 40 years and it keeps getting better. The lounge seres creative cocktails and light lunch and dinner items, with two daily happy hours six days a week.
The adjacent eatery, Andaluca Restaurant, is also fantastic.
This nationally-known culinary oasis has been around since 1996 and the food is fantastic.
The cuisine at Andaluca is largely Mediterranean, with plenty of soups, salads, and seafood entrees.
The restaurant opens early for breakfast, closes during lunch hours, then re-opns at 5 p.m. daily for dinner.
If you've never stayed at this magnificent historic hotel, check it out the next time you're in Seattle.
The Mayflower Park Hotel has it all: Comfort, class, delicious dining and drinks, luxurious amenities, and local history.
