In a year where many of us have had to forego some of our favorite holiday traditions, good news feels especially wonderful. And we’re pleased to report that Zoolights, the annual holiday extravaganza at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, is still a go this year. The team has worked extra hard to create a safe, fun, family-friendly event that’s as beautiful as ever. In fact, the light displays seem even more vibrant this year.

But during the holiday season, it's a colorful sea of shining lights.
Every November, a special team gathers to set up a colorful winter wonderland with more than 700,000 lights.

This is one of the top holiday-themed attractions in Washington and for good reason — it's a blast.
Of course, things look a little different this year — but that doesn't mean the show can't go on.

The Zoolights team re-imagined things a bit to make sure everyone can keep their distance while still having a fantastic time.
This year, ticket entrances are timed, face coverings will be required, and the entire experience is outdoors.

There are also one-way paths designed to keep you from crossing paths with anyone else.
Of course, the lack of crowds just means you'll enjoy a quieter, more peaceful experience.

If this event is a tradition for you, you might find you enjoy the 2020 version the most.
Zoolights will have many of its familiar displays, like the 3-D animals, along with some new ones.

You can even walk through a Tunnel of Lights or search for Sasquatch.
Tickets for Zoolights are $11 during the week and $14 on weekends.

Children two and under are free, and parking is also free. And you have until January 3rd to experience the magic.

Remember, entrance to Zoolights is timed this year, so make sure to buy yours online before you go.
