Their latest venture, the Kalama Harbor Lodge, just opened — and you’ll definitely want to visit. It’s Hawaiian-themed, meaning you can enjoy a tropical vacation without leaving Washington (or worrying about lava).

The McMenamins Kalama Harbor Lodge is located in the town of Kalama between totem poles and the marina at the Port of Kalama.

It might seem strange that the family would choose this small town of 2,500 near Longview for their resort, but the location was carefully selected. The McMenamins blog is full of stories about Kalama, including the story of renowned pioneer Eliza Jane Meeker.
The property is inspired by the Hawaiian heritage of John Kalama, the town's namesake who was from from Kula, Maui.
