This Quirky Fish Themed Park Is The Most Washington Thing Ever
Poulsbo is known as Washington’s Little Norway, and the town definitely sticks to the theme… they even have a Viking Festival. That being said, Norwegians certainly aren’t the only ones who love to fish. We’re definitely known for our fishing here in the Pacific Northwest, and that’s why Poulsbo’s Fish Park is pure Washington.
This urban nature park is the result of contributions from the city, tribes, state, and federal funds as well as the hard work of a lot of volunteers.
This driftwood fish sculpture, for example, is one of the top attractions.
As you can see, the trail is well-marked and easy to follow, and it showcases all the natural beauty of the area. But the trail doesn't support bicycles, so you'll have to walk it through the park or chain it up as you stroll.
Keep an eye out for different kinds of wildlife when you're here. Birds, bats, and reptiles are common, as well as the obvious (fish, although you'll know where to look for those).
And now, it's a beloved local gem.
But if you're taking the trail, please don't randomly step off of it or try to go your own way. You might end up damaging this delicate ecosystem.
