4 Places In Washington That Are Like A Caribbean Paradise In The Summer
Washington is amazing, but it isn’t exactly a tropical haven. Still, we do have some incredibly beautiful summer weather here, and there are a few places in the state that seem like a Caribbean paradise, albeit with a little imagination. If you can’t head to Antigua this summer, these spots offer a perfect compromise.

While you won't find white sand or humid heat at Alki Beach, you will find palm trees, volleyball nets, fire pits, amazing sunsets, and delicious mojitos from Cactus and Chupacabra. There's really no better place to be on a summer day.

Summertime is the perfect time to grab a table on the patio of Beaches Restaurant & Bar, enjoy a tropical drink and some citrus calamari, and watch the sunset over the ocean ... uh, that is, the Columbia River.

Did you know our Victorian seaport has a tropical eatery that sits right on the water? Every seat has a view, but nothing beats enjoying a meal on one of the two outdoor decks on a summer day.

OK, so Marination is supposed to be a Hawaiian themed restaurant, and the Asian fusion tacos aren't exactly authentic. Still, the food is delicious, the drinks are perfectly chilled, and the patio is amazing on a nice, warm afternoon. Plus, while you may not see Caribbean waters, the views of downtown Seattle can't be beat.
