There’s No Better Place To See Fall Colors Than Right Here In Washington
If you’re like me, this is your absolute favorite time of year. I love to watch the leaves change, as if a giant paintbrush is sweeping across our landscape. But what are the absolute BEST places in the country to observe the fall foliage? You’re probably not surprised, but according to Condé Nast Traveler, Washington is one of them.
According to the travel magazine, you should be headed for the charming town of Leavenworth, where you can enjoy one of the longest seasons of fall foliage on the West Coast.
From late September through late November, this area is covered with a spectacular range of fall hues, making its already majestic landscapes truly breathtaking.
Not only is mother nature celebrating the season, the town itself holds an impressive Oktoberfest (September 15 - October 30) and an annual Autumn Leaf Festival (September 23 -25).
Waterfront Park offers incredible views right from the middle of town, but the best fall foliage can be found with a scenic drive through Blewett Pass on Highway 97 or Tumwater Canyon on Higway 2. Many people also journey up to Lake Wenatchee in search of the perfect fall foliage.
Other scenic spots mentioned by the magazine include The Enchantments in late September and Columbia River Gorge (shared by Washington and Oregon) in Late October.
