Washington's Top Farm Brewery Is Unexpectedly Awesome
Since the Yakima Valley grows about 75% of the nation’s hops, it’s safe to say that Washington holds the title of the Hops Capital of America. And there just happens to be a farm brewery in Yakima where you can enjoy the rural beauty while sipping on a nice, cold beer. If you’re a beer drinker and you’ve never been to the Bale Breaker Brewing Company, you’re missing out.
The Bale Breaker Brewing Company is located at 1801 Birchfield Road in Yakima.
The family-owned brewery has grown to become the fifth largest independent craft brewery in Washington.
Bale Breaker is owned by siblings Megann Quinn, Kevin Smith, and Patrick Smith.
They represent the fourth generation of B.T. Loftus Ranches, the family hop farm where the brewery is located.
On a warm, summer day, there's no better place to be than the beautiful patio, which is framed by rows of hop vines.
You'll love drinking beer where it's born.
But you don't have to wait until summer to enjoy a nice cold one here.
With a 30-barrel brewhouse at their 27,000 square foot facility, Bale Breaker crafts four year-round beers as well as a few seasonal specials.
The patio at Bale Breaker is open year-round (it's heated and tented in the summer), and you'll often see food trucks on the property.
They also host year-round events, from live music to football viewing parties.
Given their access to some of the most sought-after hops in the nation, it's not surprising that the beer is exceptional.
Even if you don't normally like beer, you'll probably find something to enjoy here.
Bale Breaker Brewing Company is open daily.
Hours vary from 3-9 (Monday-Thursday) to 12-9 (Friday and Saturdays). On Sundays, they close at 6 p.m.
This charming farm brewery is a fun stop for the whole family (kids and dogs are welcome). And if you’re more of a wine drinker, this list of
beautiful Washington wineries is for you.
