This Incredible Virginia Hike Will Take You Past 6 Beautiful Waterfalls
Who doesn’t love a good waterfall hike? Here in Virginia, we are fortunate enough to have several of them. In fact, you can venture to Shenandoah National Park and enjoy a hike that leads you past a whopping six falls. It’s unlike any other hike out there and is simply unmissable if you’re a fan of cascades. Here’s more on this incredible Virginia hike.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Whiteoak Canyon trail is one of the most popular destinations in all of Shenandoah National Park.
Hikers looking for true adventure and plenty of waterfall rewards will find this trek to be nothing short of heavenly. Yet it should be known that the trail measures 9 miles and is somewhat strenuous in areas.
The total elevation gain along the trail is over 2,000 feet, meaning you'll want to be sure to wear sturdy hiking boots.
Fortunately, the waterfalls are dispersed such that you don't need to complete the entire trail to catch your fair share of picturesque waterfalls. Plus, should you venture in the summer, you'll be pleased to find a picturesque swimming hole at the base of each waterfall.
And waterfalls aren't the only beautiful attraction you can look forward to along this trail. In fact, the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain views are equally stunning.
So whether it's the middle of summer and you're craving a waterfall-filled outing or it's the dead of winter and you're seeking some fresh air, you'll find this trail to be positively magical.
The Whiteoak Canyon Trail parking lot can be found at Mile Marker 42.6. Have you ventured along this beautiful trail before? We’d love to hear all about it! For related content, you’ll enjoy reading about
