This Huge 1,000 Foot Water Slide Is Coming To Virginia… And It’s Awesome
Have you ever dreamed of a slip n’ slide so massive it takes up an entire downtown street? Well mark your calendars now, because Richmond will be hosting “Slide the City” for just one day this summer. This incredible event turns East Byrd Street into a 1,000 foot water slide. On Saturday, June 18th from 9 A.M until 7 P.M., you’ll have the chance to slide your way through Richmond’s downtown. Be sure to get your tickets, wear plenty of sunscreen, and enjoy the ride!

Slide the City will be hosted by Sarah Lunch Productions, a company based out of Utah that provides cities across the nation with these unbelievable waterslides. Sarah Lunch Productions is also known for its Color Me Rad 5k runs.

The 1,000 foot waterslide is the longest one of its kind in the world. The structure is divided into three lanes which are protected with inflatable barriers. You'll want to proceed with caution, as you'll reach impressive speeds on the way down.

One of the impressive aspects of this production is the company's dedication to water preservation and awareness. Throughout the day, the slide will recirculate 12,000 to 20,000 gallons of water. After the day is over, the water will be retreated and recycled back into the community.

There are a variety of packages you can purchase to make sure you'll have a spot in this epic summer event. All packages include a drawbag, wristband, and mouth guard. Some special packages allow for endless turns and also an inner tube. This Ultimate Slider price will be $65 on the day of the event. Scaled back purchases will cost less, especially if you plan to buy tickets in advance.

In addition to the main water activities, it'll be a day filled with music, food, and probably a little craziness, too. The party will go on, come rain or come shine (unless of course there's a thunderstorm).
