The year was 1804. An explorer by the name of Bernard Weyer discovered the caverns system that is now known as Grand Caverns while attempting to retrieve his hunting trap.
By 1806, Weyer's Cave opened to the public for tours, eventually to be re-named Grand Caverns. Visit today, and you too can experience the magnificence of these secluded caverns.
