10 Privileges Virginians Have That The Rest Of The U.S. Doesn’t
Here in Virginia, we have so much to be grateful for. Living where we do gives us unique privileges that no everyone else in the U.S. can enjoy. Be they natural attractions, a unique way of living, or something else altogether, there are certain things we can thank our lucky stars for. Here are just a few of them:
1. The Eastern Shore
The Eastern Shore and proximity of the Chesapeake Bay are two of Virginia's crown jewels. This unique landscape is not only beautiful, it's remarkably fragile and our responsibility to take care of it.
2. Access to gorgeous farmland
Idyllic pastoral views such as the one above aren't hard to come by in Virginia. Whether you choose to build a house on a farm or stop by one of the friendly local businesses that supports them, agriculture is a wonderful privilege of life in Virginia.
3. Scenic local beaches
Even if you live in the very southwestern corner of Virginia, you don't have to drive too far to enjoy the beautiful coast. Virginia Beach offers a gorgeous escape any time of year, and if you venture in the winter, you'll have the added perk of beating the crowds.
4. Well-maintained hiking trails
Virginia's hiking trails are among the best in the world. No matter the terrain, you can rest assured that the views will be exquisite. We also have the largest portion of the famous Appalachian Trail, which can be enjoyed as a thru-hike or a quicker day trip.
5. Historic Jamestown
There's no other living historic site in the world quite like Historic Jamestown. Whether you're on a field trip or visiting on your own accord, there's so much history to be learned at this noteworthy landmark.
6. The most beautiful fall...
There's nothing quite like the arrival of autumn in Virginia. Crisp fall air combined with the changing leaves is an experience that never gets old.
7...and an equally picturesque spring
As you can imagine, it's hard to pick which season in Virginia is the most exquisite. We shouldn't take the seasons for granted, either, because not all states get to experience them.
8. The best mountains on the planet
We may just be a little biased, but it's hard to imagine a more beautiful mountainscape than this!
9. The best breakfast in all the land
In case you hadn't noticed, we take breakfast and brunch very seriously here in Virginia. With incredible crab, farm fresh eggs, Smithfield ham, and all sorts of fresh produce, we've got the best that breakfast has to offer.
10. Little Switzerland
Rivaling the beauty of its European counterpart, Virginia's Little Switzerland is a gorgeous area known as Highland County. This beautiful corner of the state boasts scenic mountains, valleys, and an annual maple festival.
These are just a few of the many benefits of living in the beautiful state of Virginia. What are you most grateful for? We’d love for you to share your thoughts with us! For related content, you’ll enjoy reading about the
